ArmInfo. The Ministry of Transport of Kazakhstan supported the establishment of direct air service with Armenia.
The ministry's statement emphasized that the Ministry of Transport of Kazakhstan is continuously working to expand the geography of flights and increase the number of flights on existing routes. "As of April 18 of this year, Kazakhstan's SCAT Airlines began operating regular flights between Aktau and Yerevan twice a week (on Tuesdays and Saturdays) using Boeing 737 aircraft.
Furthermore, as of April 20, 2026, Armenia's SHIRAK AVIA Airlines launched regular flights between Astana and Yerevan once a week (on Mondays). These flights will be operated using Boeing 737 aircraft. The launch of these new flights is expected to contribute to the further development of trade, economic, business, and tourism cooperation between the Republic of Kazakhstan and the Republic of Armenia," the Kazakh Ministry of Transport stated.
Previously, Armenian and Kazakh officials at various levels emphasized the importance of establishing direct air service between the two countries. Active efforts in this direction have been underway for the past two years.
