Monitoring center for X-ray image analysis to be established under  SRC of Armenia

ArmInfo.  A meeting of the Council on Customs Reforms and Risk Management was held in Yerevan, chaired by Eduard Hakobyan, Head of the State Revenue Committee of  the Republic of Armenia. The meeting focused on current reforms and  new initiatives in the customs system.

According to the SRC press service, during the meeting, issues  related to the implementation and application of a new passenger  screening model at airports were presented and discussed, as well as  the current situation with baggage screening, as well as issues  related to risk profiling and coordination with operational work. The  ongoing work to establish a monitoring center for X-ray image  analysis, available resources, and the launch timeline were  discussed. The ExIm information platform was also presented,  highlighting its capabilities, features, and development prospects.  Council members also actively discussed opportunities to expand  information exchange with other countries, noting the scale of  cooperation with strategic partner countries.

The agenda also included issues of ensuring access to value  databases, revising customs liability standards, and implementing a  new risk profiling system. The importance of improving risk profiling  and increasing efficiency was emphasized.

In the context of ongoing reforms in the customs sector, the Chairman  of the State Revenue Committee emphasized the need to ensure  consistency in the implementation of measures outlined in the customs  service's strategic development plan for the coming years, as well as  new initiatives, particularly emphasizing the importance of studying  international experience aimed at enhancing discipline among business  entities and ensuring competitive advantages.
