Government to allocate $10 million for tourism infrastructure in  Yeghegis

ArmInfo.The Armenian government will allocate $10 million to develop tourism infrastructure in the Vayots Dzor region.

As stated by Economy Minister Gevorg Papoyan, this project will be  implemented in the gorge near the village of Yeghegis. Key components  of the plan include: road construction: building access roads to  major historical and cultural monuments, including the Zorats Church;  aerial tramway: the construction of a cable car (ropeway) at the  Smbataberd Fortress and utility infrastructure: the state will  resolve issues regarding consistent electricity and water supply to  the area.

According to the Minister, additional investment programs are slated  for the region. "As a result, the Yeghegis Canyon will become a vital  tourism destination, attracting an increasing number of visitors,"  Papoyan assured.
