
ArmInfo. 684 million drams, including VAT, will be allocated to host the "Concours Mondial de Bruxelles 2026" international wine tasting contest in Armenia. At its May 7 meeting, the RA government approved the RA Ministry of Economy's proposal to reallocate these funds within the ministry's budget for the current year.
In his speech, RA Minister of Economy Gevorg Papoyan noted that the 33rd session of the prestigious international wine competition will be held in Yerevan from May 19 to 23, 2026. According to the minister, this landmark event, often referred to as the "Oscars of Wine," will bring together experts from around the world for a blind wine tasting in a country with ancient winemaking traditions. This is the first time such an event has been held in the region. Previously, such events have been held in Portugal, Italy, Spain, Mexico, China, and other countries. The competition will be held at the Karen Demirchyan Sports and Concert Complex. Representatives from 65 countries will participate, along with approximately 400 wine professionals, including 120 professional wine buyers, and 200 wine journalists and bloggers. They will taste 8,000 wines.
Papoyan also announced that wine days will be held in Armenia in early June.
