
ArmInfo. Armenia's power generation accelerated in Q1 2026, with annual growth rising from 6.5% to 7.3%. Total output reached 2,817.6 million kWh, according to the latest figures from the Statistical Committee of the Republic of Armenia.
Specifically, thermal power plants (TPPs) increased their power generation by 45.1% year-on-year in Q1 2026, reaching 1,244 million kWh. At the same time, hydroelectric power plants (HPPs) decreased their electricity output by 34.3% year-on-year, to 337.9 million kWh, while the Armenian Nuclear Power Plant (ANPP) decreased its output by 1.4%, to 936.9 million kWh. Solar power generation also decreased by 1.4% to 298.4 million kWh. Wind power plants, on the other hand, significantly increased their electricity generation by 2.5 times to 0.4 million kWh.
