Armenia records significant increase in absolute natural population  growth 

ArmInfo.  In the first quarter of 2026, 7,272 children were born in Armenia, a 0.2% increase compared to the same period last year. The birth rate per 1,000 inhabitants  for the reporting period was 9.5 per thousand, compared to 9.6 per  thousand a year earlier.

6,574 people died in Armenia during the reporting period, a decrease  of 8.7% year-on-year. The death rate in the country was 8.6 per  thousand, compared to 9.5 per thousand a year ago.

Thus, the absolute natural population growth was 698 people, an  increase of more than tenfold in one year. The natural population  growth rate during the reporting period was 0.9 per thousand,  compared to 0.1 per thousand the previous year.
