
ArmInfo. A large business delegation from China has arrived in Yerevan. It includes representatives of leading companies operating in various sectors, including investment, industrial, legal, transportation, agriculture, and culture.
The delegation also included heads of international investment and entrepreneurship platforms operating in various countries as part of the Belt and Road Initiative.
The Chinese business mission met with representatives of the International Business Relations (IBRS), during which the parties discussed opportunities for expanding economic cooperation between Armenia and China, prospects for developing the investment environment, and the implementation of joint projects in various fields.
They emphasized the importance of long-term and sustainable cooperation aimed at attracting investment, opening new markets, and deepening economic, technological, and cultural ties between the two countries.
"China continues to be an important and promising new market for Armenia, creating significant opportunities for expanding economic cooperation. Armenian producers can expand their exports by entering the Chinese market, forming new partnerships, and strengthening their presence on the international stage," the IBRS statement said.
According to the Statistical Committee of the Republic of Armenia, trade turnover between Armenia and China increased by 19.6% in the first quarter of 2026, reaching $701.7 million. Exports increased 2.3-fold to $251.3 million, while imports declined by 6.1% to $450.4 million.
For the entire year of 2025, mutual trade volume declined by 6.5%, reaching $2.6 billion. Exports totaled $763.6 million, a 30.4% year-on-year decline, while imports grew by 8.8% to $1.9 billion.
