ArmInfo.Armenia intends to continue its good faith participation in the work of the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU) based on mutual respect, equal partnership, and consideration of the national interests of all member states, as stated by Armenian Deputy Prime Minister Mher Grigoryan, speaking during the EAEU summit on May 29 in Astana.
"We have repeatedly reaffirmed Armenia's commitment to mutually beneficial cooperation within the framework of the EAEU in the interests of ensuring economic stability and sustainable economic development for our countries and our region as a whole," he said.
In his address, the Deputy Prime Minister cited the liberalization of trade and services as one of the main drivers of deepening economic integration within the EAEU. At the same time, Grigoryan emphasized that certain aspects of national regulation still require more practical coordination, which in turn will create additional opportunities for strengthening cooperation between member countries, increasing the predictability and transparency of regulatory mechanisms, and creating a more favorable environment for business.
He identified the diversification of trade and economic ties with third countries as another important area of cooperation. "Undoubtedly, one of the key development factors in this direction is the diversification of transport links, which will unequivocally provide a substantial impetus to the growth of trade turnover," he noted.
In this vein, Grigoryan stated that the Republic of Armenia attaches great importance to developing cooperation in the agro-industrial complex (AIC) and welcomes the signing of the protocol extending the mechanism for financial support for joint cooperation projects to the agro-industrial sector. According to the Deputy Prime Minister, this will contribute to the growth of cooperation and strengthen food security within the Union. Grigoryan also noted that the development and implementation of AI technologies is becoming a pivotal factor in enhancing the competitiveness of economies and strengthening the technological sovereignty of the Union's countries. "The Joint Statement on the Responsible Development of AI within the EAEU is a major step toward establishing coordinated approaches and effective mechanisms for cooperation among the Union states in the field of AI," he emphasized.
