Economy Ministry  discusses ways to improve state support instruments  for greenhouse farms

ArmInfo.  Armenian Minister of Economy Gevorg Papoyan held a meeting with representatives of major greenhouse farms.

According to the Ministry of Economy press service, the participants  discussed the current situation in greenhouse farm development, the  main challenges, and potential solutions. The parties also touched  upon the sector's development prospects, initiatives aimed at  increasing efficiency, and export diversification. In this regard,  they reviewed possibilities for improving state support instruments  provided to greenhouse business entities to overcome the challenges  facing the industry. The Minister noted that, alongside the  traditional markets, steps must be taken to ensure the presence of  Armenian products on international markets. "The Government of the  Republic of Armenia is already implementing numerous programs and  stands ready to take additional steps to achieve our economic  diversification goals," Papoyan said.

It should be noted that the total area of greenhouses in Armenia is  85 hectares. By 2026, the government plans to build greenhouse farms  with a total area of 64 hectares under state assistance programs.
