ArmInfo. The first major shipment of next-generation NVIDIA Blackwell graphics processing units (GPUs) has arrived in Armenia for the Firebird AI Data Center currently under construction in Hrazdan, as stated by the press service of the Ministry of High-Tech Industry.
The delivery includes 1,792 GPUs out of a total of 6,144 processors planned for the first phase of the Firebird AI mega-project. Under this initial phase, a state-of-the-art AI data center with a capacity of approximately 18 MW will be launched in Hrazdan, equipped with high-performance computing resources built on the NVIDIA Blackwell architecture.
The investment volume for the first phase of the project is approximately $500 million. The second phase aims to attract up to $4 billion in additional investment and deploy approximately 42,000 additional GPUs. According to the project's initiators, this will position Armenia among the top five countries globally with the most powerful data centers dedicated to artificial intelligence.
A key component of the project is a $25 million strategic program implemented under an agreement between the Government of Armenia and Firebird AI. Under this program, the state will secure access to high-performance AI computing resources over a five-year period to support Armenian startups, research teams, universities, and specialists. Furthermore, these resources are slated for deployment across government agencies, tech companies, and research and development (R&D) programs.
