
ArmInfo. Standards for fitness centers and gyms will be implemented in Armenia. The decision was made at a government meeting on June 4.
According to Minister of Education, Science, Culture, and Sports Zhanna Andreasyan, establishing standards for fitness centers and gyms is aimed at promoting public health, developing the sports and wellness sector, organizing active leisure activities for the population of the Republic of Armenia, combating bad habits, and preventing the development of human diseases. These standards include requirements for ensuring the lowest possible risk during sports and wellness activities. The draft outlines the types of sports considered as fitness, as well as other sports activities, and defines standards for fitness centers and gyms.
The minister noted that a list of mandatory sports complexes to be built in the regions of the republic will be compiled on an annual basis. In each expanded settlement, a standard sports complex must be created, which must necessarily include a swimming pool and a fitness center.
