ArmInfo. Cybersecurity is a shared responsibility today, and countering modern threats requires close cooperation between the government, the private sector, and the professional community. This was stated by Gevorg Mantashyan, Deputy Minister of High-Tech Industry of Armenia, during a panel discussion entitled "Cybersecurity as a National Priority," held as part of the two-day RISE Powered by Silicon Mountains 2026 exhibition and forum.
He noted that one of the key factors for the industry's development is the development of human capital and the existence of clear regulatory rules. Along with ongoing legislative reforms, Mantashyan noted that the Ministry is implementing educational and awareness-raising programs, initiatives for schoolchildren and students, and organizing hackathons. "These measures contribute to the identification of new talent and the training of qualified specialists," he said.
Speaking about the use of cloud technologies, the Deputy Minister emphasized the importance of ongoing interaction with the private sector and the professional community. He emphasized that the selection and implementation of technological solutions must be guided by the principles of cost-effectiveness, security, and long-term sustainability.
According to the press service of the Ministry of High-Tech Industry, during the panel discussion, participants discussed current challenges in digital security, the development of legal regulation, and increasing the cyber resilience of critical infrastructure. Particular attention was paid to the prospects for implementing new technological solutions in this area.
The RISE forum and exhibition was held on June 3-4 at the Karen Demirchyan Sports and Concert Complex with the support of the Zangezur Copper and Molybdenum Combine. The event was organized by the Union of Employers of Information and Communication Technologies of Armenia.
The concept of the forum was built around four areas - Research & Development, Innovation, Science and Engineering, which form the basis of technological development.
