
ArmInfo. According to data from the Statistical Committee of the Republic of Armenia, power generation in January-April 2026 accelerated year-on-year from 4.9% to 8.3%, reaching 3,610.7 million kWh. However, in April alone, electricity generation decreased by 20% to 750.7 million kWh.
Specifically, in January-April 2026, compared to the same period in 2025, thermal power plants increased electricity generation by 59.4% to 1,584.8 million kWh. Solar power plants increased their electricity generation by 18.4% year-on-year, generating 483.7 million kWh. Wind power plants generated 0.5 million kWh of electricity during the reporting period, up 55.2% year-on-year.
Meanwhile, hydroelectric power plants and the Armenian Nuclear Power Plant (ANPP) decreased their output by 22.2% and 18.8%, respectively, to 602.3 million kWh and 939.4 million kWh.
