ArmInfo. Royal FloraHolland, the world's largest cooperative marketplace for flowers and ornamental plants, is opening its market to Armenian flowers. This was announced by the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Netherlands, Tom Berendsen, in a post on his X (formerly Twitter) account.
According to the Minister, this initiative will grant Armenian producers a direct access to buyers across Europe and beyond.
"The Netherlands stands behind the EU support package announced by European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen, and has also explored how to contribute with practical support for affected sectors, such as Armenian flowers," the diplomat wrote.
At the same time, Berendsen noted that the Netherlands underlines the importance of free and fair elections as the foundation of a stable and democratic future, " one that Armenia itself determines"
It should be noted that Royal FloraHolland is the world's largest cooperative trading platform for the sale of flowers and ornamental plants, headquartered in the Netherlands. The organization brings together thousands of producers and trades millions of flowers and plants every day through an auction system and digital platform, connecting suppliers with buyers from Europe and other regions of the world.
Recall, effective May 22, 2026, Rosselkhoznadzor introduced temporary restrictions on the import of flower products originating and departing from Armenia until the end of the inspection of greenhouse farms and the completion of the analysis of its results.
Armenia's flower exports witnessed significant growth over the past two years, according to the Ministry of Economy. Export volumes surged from 566 tons in 2024 to 1,320 tons by the end of 2025, representing roughly 78 million individual flowers. The primary export destinations for Armenian flowers continue to be member states of the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU) and the United Arab Emirates (UAE).
