ArmInfo.Yerevan Municipality intends to hold a tender to select a company to oversee the technical supervision of the Ajapnyak metro station construction project. Mayor Tigran Avinyan announced this at a hearing of the RA National Assembly committees on January 12.
According to him, city authorities are seeking a contractor with a strong international reputation to achieve this goal. The station construction project was completed at the end of 2025, and positive expert assessments were also received. Following the tender, the land acquisition process will begin, which will allow for the tender to be held to select the company that will directly handle the construction work.
The cost of constructing the 11th station of the Yerevan Metro, Ajapnyak, is estimated at $287.4 million. The project has already received a positive assessment from the Armenian Ministry of Finance, and authorities are preparing to hold tenders to launch the practical phase of construction. The cost was long estimated at around $50 million, but the updated estimate reflects a comprehensive approach that includes the construction of the metro bridge, tunnel construction, and the creation of the necessary infrastructure. The 2026 state budget includes initial tranches totaling 2 billion drams to begin the project. Active construction is planned to begin at the end of this year and will take four years.
