ArmInfo. The Armenian government will decide at its next meeting to increase compensation for flower producers, which will help them increase exports. Armenian Economy Minister Gevorg Papoyan announced this in a conversation with journalists.
He acknowledged that problems exist in this sector, as flower production volumes significantly exceed exports. The minister noted that Armenia exported over 4 million flowers in June, and thanks to the expansion of state support instruments, this figure is planned to increase to 6-10 million.
Papoyan also reported that six major Armenian producers participated in negotiations with Royal Flora Holland. While European partners initially showed little interest in the negotiations, the situation has now changed. The Armenian side proposed a mutually beneficial formula, expressing its willingness to cover the costs of protecting consumer rights.
"We are now working towards this goal, to be able to sell our products through auction," the Minister of Economy said.
In early June, the world's largest cooperative marketplace for flowers and ornamental plants, Royal Flora Holland, announced it was opening its market to Armenian flowers.
The organization unites thousands of producers and facilitates the daily trade of millions of flowers and plants through an auction system and a digital platform, connecting suppliers with buyers in Europe and other regions.
Effective May 22, 2026, Rosselkhoznadzor (Federal Service for Veterinary and Phytosanitary Surveillance) imposed temporary restrictions on the import of floral products originating in and originating in Armenia until the completion of greenhouse inspections and analysis of the results. It should be noted that Armenia has traditionally exported flowers to the EAEU and UAE markets. By the end of 2025, flower exports totaled 1,320 tons, or 78 million flowers.
