
ArmInfo. Effective corporate governance in state-owned companies is one of the priority reform areas in Armenia. This was stated by RA Deputy Finance Minister Edgar Mkrtchyan during the annual corporate governance conference.
He noted that, in addition to the Deputy Minister, the conference was also attended by Secretary General of the Ministry of Finance Hayk Harutyunyan and Advisor Lia Hayrapetyan, who coordinates certain fiscal risk management functions.
According to the ministry's press service, during the conference, the Ministry of Finance, the Corporate Governance Center, the Commission on Corruption Prevention, and the State Property Management Committee signed a Memorandum of Understanding. Secretary General Hayk Harutyunyan signed the memorandum on behalf of the Ministry of Finance. The document confirms the parties' intention to promote the application of best corporate governance principles in state-owned companies in Armenia. Liya Hayrapetyan participated in the panel discussion "Development of Corporate Governance in State- Owned Companies in Armenia," which discussed the objectives of state-owned companies' ownership policies and ongoing reforms.
