As part of one of the largest international events in the field of information and communications technology, the World Summit on Information Society 2026, held in Geneva, Mesrop Mesropyan, Chairman of the Public Services Regulatory Commission (PSRC), participated in a roundtable discussion featuring leaders of regulatory bodies from various countries.
According to the PSRC press service, the discussion focused on development trajectories for the telecommunications sector, priorities for expanding digital infrastructure, and the opportunities and challenges associated with the adoption of new technologies. Particular attention was paid to the impact of artificial intelligence and the necessity of developing new regulatory approaches that align with the rapidly evolving technological environment.
The participation of the Public Services Regulatory Commission in such international events underscores Armenia's engagement in shaping the global digital agenda and fostering international cooperation. During the forum, Mesrop Mesropyan also spoke at a high-level "Leaders TalkX" panel discussion, where he presented the reforms implemented in Armenia's electronic communications sector, the results achieved, and future development paths.
The Summit is one of the largest international events in the field of information and communications technology, held by the International Telecommunication Union (ITU) under the auspices of the UN. It brings together representatives of government agencies, international organizations, academia, and the private sector to discuss key issues related to digital development, innovation, and the implementation of the Sustainable Development Goals.
