ArmInfo. The Public Services Regulatory Commission of Armenia (PSRC), with the participation of European Union experts, has launched discussions on reforming the Armenian electricity market and regulating electricity storage.
According to the Commission, the meeting's agenda included issues related to work carried out under the "EU for Energy" program, the analysis and systematization of adopted by-laws and regulations, identifying priorities for their improvement, the possible harmonization of Armenian legislation with the Energy Community legal system, and the development of regulations in the field of electricity storage.
The goal of the event is to promote deeper cooperation between Armenia and the European Union in the energy sector, as well as to support the development and implementation of effective, modern regulations in line with best European practices. During the meeting, PSRC Chairman Mesrop Mesropyan emphasized the importance of cooperation with the European Union and other international partners in the ongoing reform of Armenia's electricity market. He stated that such formats contribute to the development of modern regulatory solutions, the implementation of best international practices, and the sustainable development of the sector.
Armin Buhem, Head of the Armenia Office of the "EU4Energy" program, also delivered a welcoming speech, noting the importance of the partnership between Armenia and the European Union in the energy sector and outlining the work being carried out within the program.
The Energy Community is an international organization focused on energy policy, uniting the EU and its neighbors to create a single pan-European energy market. It helps member countries integrate markets, implement European standards, and develop local "green" microgrids for energy exchange.
The organization was established by international treaty in 2006.
