ArmInfo Mesrop Mesropyan, Chairman of the Public Services Regulatory Commission of the Republic of Armenia (PSRC), and Konstantinos Tsimaras, Chairman of the Hellenic Regulatory Authority for Energy, Waste, and Water (RAAEY), have signed a memorandum of understanding.
According to the PSRC press service, the purpose of the memorandum is to deepen and develop cooperation between the two countries' regulatory authorities in the energy and water sectors. PSRC Chairman Mesrop Mesropyan emphasized the importance of establishing cooperation between the regulatory authorities of Armenia and Greece.
"I am confident that the memorandum of understanding will create new opportunities for exchanging experience and best regulatory practices, strengthening professional capacity, and ensuring effective regulation in the relevant areas," he said.
In turn, Chairman of the Hellenic Regulatory Authority Konstantinos Tsimaras emphasized that cooperation with the Armenian regulator is of great importance to them. "I am confident that the signed memorandum will create new opportunities for the development of the regulatory systems of the two countries," he stated.
Prior to the signing of the memorandum, the parties discussed a wide range of issues related to the development of cooperation between the regulatory authorities of Armenia and Greece. Specifically, they agreed to collaborate in several key areas, including regulation of the electricity, natural gas, renewable energy, and water sectors, tariff policy, consumer protection, improving service quality, refining regulatory methodologies, and ensuring sustainable water resource management.
