Mesrop Arakelyan: Pashinyan`s short-sighted policies drive Armenia`s  agricultural sector to a 15-year decline

ArmInfo.  Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan's short- sighted policies will only worsen  the country's agricultural crisis in the near future. This opinion  was shared by Mesrop Arakelyan, co-founder of the "Country to Live"  party, on his Facebook page.

According to him, the current authorities continue to feed the people  with "apricot kernels," assuring them that the agricultural sector is  performing well.

"However, according to official statistics, the agricultural sector  declined by 12% in H1 2026. Such a figure has not been recorded for  over 15 years. As a result of Pashinyan's short-sighted policies,  problems in agriculture will only worsen in the near future,"  Arakelyan wrote.

It should be noted that according to statistical data for the H1  2026, the agricultural sector's dynamics worsened, reversing from  7.3% growth to a double-digit 11.9% decline. In absolute terms, the  agricultural sector ranks fourth, with 310.1 billion drams ($828.3  million).
