
ArmInfo. At its meeting on August 5, the Public Services Regulatory Commission (PSRC) of the Republic of Armenia extended the thermal power generation license of Hrazdan-5 CJSC, issued to Gazprom Armenia CJSC.
According to the PSRC's announcement, the application submitted by the company was reviewed by the commission's relevant departments in the established manner. No objections to the application were received; therefore, the draft decision discussed at the meeting was adopted unanimously. By the commission's decision, the validity of the thermal energy production license issued to "Gazprom Armenia" CJSC has been extended until August 13, 2027.
The fifth power unit of the Hrazdan TPP ("Hrazdan-5," with a capacity of 480 MW) was completed and connected to Armenia's power grid in January 2012, and was officially commissioned for commercial operation in December 2013. Gazprom's investments in the project amounted to approximately $456 million.
