ArmInfo. Trade turnover between Russia and Armenia has decreased by two-thirds this year. This was reported to journalists by Deputy Prime Minister Alexei Overchuk on August 6, responding to a question from RIA Novosti.
"In 2024, trade turnover between Russia and Armenia reached a record high - approximately $12 billion. This is a huge figure. Last year, it fell to around $8 billion. This year, there has been a very dramatic decline in trade turnover. It's approximately two-thirds of what it was in 2025. The situation is such that it's clear it will continue to decline," the Deputy Prime Minister stated on the sidelines of the Russian-Kyrgyz Economic Forum in Cholpon-Ata.
According to Overchuk, the current developments in relations between the EAEU and Armenia were predictable. "And we've been telling our colleagues in Armenia for the past three to four years that such risks exist, particularly the risk of a decline in trade turnover," he emphasized. It should be noted that in the first five months of 2026, trade turnover between Armenia and Russia amounted to $2.196 billion, which is 21.5% lower than the figures for the same period in 2025 ($2.763 billion).
