There is significant potential for developing cooperation between Armenia and Iran in agriculture, particularly in crop production, livestock farming, agricultural processing, greenhouse development, and refrigeration and warehouse infrastructure. Armenian Minister of Economy Gevorg Papoyan made this statement during a meeting with Iranian Deputy Minister of Agriculture Akbar Fathi in Almaty on the sidelines of the 7th meeting of the EAEU Agro-Industrial Policy Council.
"Armenia is interested in expanding the presence of competitive fruits and vegetables, processed goods, dried fruits, and other food products on the Iranian market, as well as in facilitating the supply of quality Iranian products to the Armenian market," he noted.
Addressing modern climate challenges, the minister also emphasized the importance of exchanging expertise in implementing efficient, water-saving irrigation systems, digitizing agriculture, and increasing productivity.
Papoyan invited his Iranian counterpart to explore opportunities for implementing joint investment programs across various agricultural sectors.
During the meeting, the sides also discussed several other matters of mutual interest.
