ArmInfo. Armenian Minister of Economy Gevorg Papoyan held a meeting with Kazakh Minister of Agriculture Aidarbek Saparov to explore avenues for deepening bilateral cooperation in the agricultural sector.
The discussions focused on expanding mutual trade turnover, launching joint investment projects, and facilitating the exchange of modern agricultural technologies and industry expertise. Both officials also emphasized the importance of collaboration in water resource management, irrigation systems, livestock breeding, and agricultural processing.
During the talks, Minister Papoyan highlighted the strong potential for increasing Armenian agricultural and food exports to Kazakhstan, specifically pointing to wine, fresh produce, and fish products as key growth drivers.
It should be noted that, according to data from the Statistical Committee of the Republic of Armenia, bilateral trade between Armenia and Kazakhstan reached $48.5 million in the first half of 2026, marking a 16.3% increase compared to the same period last year. However, exports dropped by 35.2% to $19.9 million, while imports from Kazakhstan surged significantly, growing 2.6 times to reach $28.6 million.
