Armenia's power generation accelerated in the first half of 2026, recording a 10% year-over-year increase (up from 4% growth in H1 2025) to reach a total of 5,163.7 million kWh, according to data from the Statistical Committee of the Republic of Armenia. In June alone, power production rose 1.6% month-over-month to 782.8 million kWh.
Specifically, in the first half of 2026, compared to the same period in 2025, thermal power plants increased their power generation by 43.5% to 2,031.9 million kWh, while hydroelectric power plants increased their output by 3.4% to 1,346 million kWh. Meanwhile, the Armenian Nuclear Power Plant (ANPP) reduced its output by 23.8% to 939.5 million kWh.
Solar power plants also increased their output by 13.8% year-on-year, reaching 845.7 million kWh, while wind power plants increased their output by 44.8% year-on-year to 0.6 million kWh.
