AMIO Bank placed its AMD bonds worth 6 billion drams at a record speed

ArmInfo. AMIO Bank, with record speed and just 30 hours after the issue launch, fully placed its registered, coupon, non-certificated, and non-convertible dram bonds totaling 6 billion drams. According to AMIO Bank's announcement, the placement began on August 17th, and successful completion was announced on August 19th.

"The recorded result testifies to the high level of investor confidence in AMIO Bank and the attractiveness of the proposed financial instrument," the announcement noted.

This tranche (AMARBBB2RER3) includes 60,000 bonds, each with a par value of 100,000 drams. The coupon yield is set at 9.75%. Coupon payments are scheduled quarterly. The full redemption of this bond issue will take place on August 17, 2029.

The announcement mentions that, in accordance with current tax legislation, the coupon income of the bonds is exempt from income tax until December 31, 2027, inclusive. Bonds are a reliable financial instrument, guaranteed by the Deposit Guarantee Fund, similar to bank deposits.

As a reminder, AMIO Bank previously launched an initial public offering of registered, non-convertible, coupon-bearing AMD bonds in the amount of 3 billion AMD at the end of June 2026, scheduled for completion on August 31. At that time, 30,000 bonds were issued, each with a par value of 100,000 AMD, with the same coupon yield of 9.75% as the current one. The coupon payments on these bonds are also scheduled for quarterly. The maturity of these bonds is 24 months (2 years).

According to the Financial Rating of Armenian Banks as of June 30, 2026, prepared by ArmInfo Investment Company, AMIO Bank ranks 7th in terms of funds raised from corporate bond placements – over 42.1 billion drams ($114.6 million). This figure increased by 59% year-on-year and almost 5-fold over the three-year period. AMIO Bank is among the top 5 banks in terms of key balance sheet indicators: assets (5th), total liabilities (5th), total capital (4th), authorized capital (1st), loan portfolio (4th position) (also occupying the same position for corporate loans), investments in securities (3rd), and term deposits (4th). The bank increased its net profit threefold year-on-year, and twentyfold over three years, reaching a level of over 9.4 billion drams ($25.7 million), closely approaching the top five in this indicator.
