ArmInfo. Direct flights between Tabriz and Yerevan resumed on August 20, 2026, following a two-year hiatus. The relaunch ceremony took place at Zvartnots International Airport with the support of the Iranian Embassy in Armenia.
According to the Iranian Embassy in Armenia, the inaugural event was attended by Iranian Ambassador Khalil Shirgholami, the General Director of Zvartnots Airport, the President of the Armenian Tourism Federation, the Executive Director of Pouya Air, as well as officials from Iran's East Azerbaijan province and private sector representatives.
During the ceremony, Ambassador Shirgholami highlighted the restored route as a crucial milestone for boosting bilateral tourism and strengthening commercial ties. He emphasized that the air link creates essential infrastructure to expand trade cooperation between northwestern Iran and the Republic of Armenia.
