ArmInfo. Sugar imports to Armenia decreased by 14.4% in 2025 (compared to a 41.6% increase in 2024), amounting to 83,800 tons. The customs value decreased by 25.8% to $42.2 million, according to data from the RA Customs Service.
Sugar was primarily imported to Armenia from Brazil (88%), followed by smaller amounts from Russia (8.9%), Belarus (1.5%), Ukraine (1.4%), as well as from India, the UK, Mauritius, Colombia, Italy, Germany, and Belgium. Armenia imported less than 1 ton from Iran, Laos, China, the Netherlands, Costa Rica, and Reunion.
Armenia's sugar exports totaled 662.1 tons, a 5.1% year-on-year decrease (compared to a 2.7% decline in 2024), with a corresponding decrease in customs value to $739,600.
The lion's share of sugar exports went to the Russian market (96%), with the remaining volumes shipped to, among others, Belarus, Georgia, and Kazakhstan.
