ArmInfo. Armenia increased its oil product imports by 10.8% in 2025, reaching 546,600 tons. The customs value also increased by 8.5%, reaching $514 million, according to data from the RA Customs Service.
The geography of oil product imports during the reporting year was quite broad. While 34 countries were among the importers in 2024, their number increased to 49 by the end of 2025. Azerbaijan appeared on the list for the first time, accounting for only 0.2% of the tonnage shipped.
The lion's share of oil products was imported from Russia – 38.4% (compared to 61.2% in 2024). Next came Romania - 14.4%, Egypt - 13.8%, Turkey - 11.1%, Iran - 5.7%, Greece - 3.3%, and Bulgaria.
- 3.1%, Georgia - 3%, Israel - 2.8%, Cyprus - 2.2%, and the Republic of Korea - 0.2%. Armenia imported slightly smaller tonnages from the UAE, Belarus, Belgium, Thailand, Turkmenistan, Indonesia, Spain, Italy, Japan, India, Kazakhstan, Poland, Lithuania, Canada, Finland, France, Malaysia, the United Kingdom, the United States, the Netherlands, Sweden, Switzerland, Ukraine, Uzbekistan, China, Slovakia, Serbia, and Singapore. Up to 1 ton of petroleum products were imported from Oman, the Czech Republic, Portugal, Austria, Costa Rica, South Africa, Hungary, and other EU countries.
During the reporting year, Armenia reduced its petroleum product exports by 55.5% to 54.5 tons, while the customs value decreased by 35.6% to $483,000. The bulk of petroleum product exports went to the Russian Federation (72.6%), Kazakhstan (23.5%), the UAE (2.5%), and very small supplies (up to 1 ton) went to Germany, Georgia, and Italy.
It should be noted that, according to the Ministry of Territorial Administration and Infrastructure of the Republic of Armenia, in accordance with the Agreement between the Government of Armenia and the Government of the Russian Federation dated December 2, 2013 on cooperation in the supply of natural gas, petroleum products, and rough diamonds, as well as in accordance with the agreements signed between the Ministry of Territorial Administration and Infrastructure of the Republic of Armenia and the Ministry of According to the indicative balances of the Russian energy sector for 2025, supplies of motor gasoline are projected to be 230 thousand tons, and diesel fuel - 175 thousand tons.
