ArmInfo. The second power unit of the Armenian Nuclear Power Plant (ANPP) has been connected to the country's unified power grid after a five-month shutdown. This was reported by the plant's press service.
According to a source, following the successful completion of the scheduled preventive maintenance (SPM-2026) for 2026, Unit 2 of the Armenian Nuclear Power Plant (ANPP) was restarted and connected to the unified power grid of the Republic of Armenia. The unit's restart was carried out in accordance with established technological procedures, following the successful completion of the necessary inspections and tests. As part of the 2026 outage, approximately 20 comprehensive measures were implemented to enhance the reliability of the power unit's key systems and equipment, extend their service life, and continuously improve safety.
During the maintenance, scheduled maintenance, repairs, troubleshooting, and inspections of the primary and auxiliary equipment were carried out. Simultaneously, technical modernization programs aimed at ensuring the safe, stable, and efficient operation of the power unit continued. The work planned for the 2026 outage was organized under the supervision of the Nuclear Safety Regulatory Committee.
Currently, Unit 2 of the NPP is operating normally. The gradual increase in capacity is being carried out in accordance with established process requirements, with strict adherence to all safety and reliability standards.
