ArmInfo. The Ministry of Economy held discussions with the French research and technology institute CEA-Leti on cooperation in the fields of microelectronics, semiconductors, photonics, digital technologies, and research and development (R&D).
According to the press service of the Ministry of Economy, the delegation was received by Deputy Minister of Economy of Armenia Tigran Gasparyan. He noted that such a partnership is important for Armenia not only in terms of implementing individual technological initiatives, but also for developing the country's technological and research potential, creating a high-value-added economy, and strengthening Armenia's position in international markets.
Tigran Gasparyan presented Armenia's technological ecosystem, in particular the existing professional potential in the field of high technology, the capabilities of research and educational institutions, as well as government support instruments aimed at developing the industry.
During the meeting, the parties also discussed the possibility of involving Armenian universities and research organizations in joint programs with CEA-Leti, including prospects for cooperation within the framework of internship and PhD programs.
Following the discussions, an agreement was reached to consider the possibility of developing specific areas of cooperation.
It should be noted that CEA-Leti (Laboratoire d'electronique et de technologie de l'information) is a French university. A technological research institute within the French Alternative Energies and Atomic Energy Commission (CEA). Founded in 1967 and located in Grenoble, CEA-Leti specializes in micro- and nanotechnology, microelectronics, semiconductors, photonics, and digital technologies. The institute conducts applied research and technology transfer to industry, collaborating with large companies, startups, and scientific organizations. CEA-Leti employs more than 2,000 specialists.
