Arminfo. On September 11, Deputy Minister of High-Tech Industry and Artificial Intelligence of the Republic of Armenia Tatev Aslanyan received a delegation headed by Dr. Sonja Kurtz, Director of the GIZ Office in Armenia, and Ivan Zusner, Programme Officer at the EU Delegation.
According to the ministry’s press service, during the meeting, the goals, main areas and current activities of the “Cooperation to Strengthen Cybersecurity” programme, implemented by GIZ on behalf of the German Federal Foreign Office and co-financed by the European Union, were presented.
The parties discussed the alignment of the programme’s activities with the priorities of the Government of the Republic of Armenia and the ministry, the resolution of the sector’s current problems and challenges, as well as prospects for further cooperation.
In the context of developing the cybersecurity system, the importance of strengthening institutional capacity, improving sectoral policies and regulations, developing technical capabilities, and expanding international cooperation was emphasized.
It was emphasized that building sustainable cybersecurity capacity is a key prerequisite for Armenia’s digital transformation, strengthening trust in digital services, and the country’s closer integration into the European digital and cybersecurity environment.
At the conclusion of the meeting, the parties reaffirmed the importance of continuing coordination between the ministry, European partners and GIZ in order to ensure that programme support more effectively corresponds to Armenia’s current needs and priorities.
