ArmInfo. In the second quarter of 2026, donations to the diplomatic service of the Republic of Armenia operating abroad totaled 65.3 million drams, while expenses amounted to 37.5 million drams. These revenues were generated through donations provided by host countries to the embassies of the Republic of Armenia in Kuwait and Qatar. At its meeting on September 24, the Government of the Republic of Armenia amended the country's state budget for the current year.

The draft justification notes that the funds received are intended to ensure the ongoing operations of diplomatic

missions. Of the 65.3 million drams, 37.5 million drams were spent in the second quarter. The draft proposes to reflect the donations received and the expenses incurred with them in the corresponding indicators of the 2026 state budget. Thus, state budget revenues will increase by 65.3 million drams, and expenditures by 37.5 million drams. As a result, the budget deficit will decrease by approximately 27.822 million drams.

It is worth noting that these Arab states have a long-standing practice of co-financing or providing material support to Armenian diplomatic missions. Qatar has supported the diplomatic mission in Doha since its opening in 2019. When establishing the embassy, the Qatari side committed to covering more than half of its operating costs ($110,000 out of $192,500 for the first three years), and also donated the embassy land, ambassadorial residence, and official vehicles.

Kuwait, along with Qatar, actively supports Armenia's diplomatic presence, including directly covering the operating costs of the mission in Kuwait City to strengthen bilateral and investment ties.
