ArmInfo. A delegation led by Rafael Gevorkyan, Deputy Chairman of the State Revenue Committee of the Republic of Armenia, participated in the 83rd session of the Council of Heads of Customs Services of the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS), organized in Brest via videoconference.
According to the SRC press service, 17 decisions concerning various areas of customs regulation were discussed and signed during the session, including the exchange of experience in the use of information technology and software tools used for customs control, as well as promising technologies aimed at improving customs administration, and the study of the experience of CIS customs authorities in cross-border e-commerce.
The discussion also focused on the exchange of information on the transportation of certain types of personal goods by individuals, the implementation of control over individuals at checkpoints, the classification of certain goods in accordance with the CIS Commodity Nomenclature for Foreign Economic Activity, the possibility of providing potential tariff concessions in connection with the Republic of Moldova's withdrawal from the CIS, and other issues. On the occasion of the 35th anniversary of the formation of the CIS, the CIS Executive Committee awarded representatives of the customs authorities of the CIS member states with certificates of honor and letters of thanks from the CIS Executive Committee for their significant contribution to the development of customs cooperation between the CIS member states.
It was decided to hold the next, 84th, session of the Council of Heads of Customs Services of the CIS in the first half of 2027 in the Russian Federation.
