ArmInfo. Armenia confirms its interest in continuing mutually beneficial cooperation within the Eurasian Economic Union, aimed at strengthening economic stability and ensuring sustainable development in the region. This was stated by RA Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan at a meeting of the EAEU Intergovernmental Council on October 2.

According to him, Armenia is consistently promoting an agenda of peace and trade and transport connectivity in the region. As has been repeatedly noted, Pashinyan continued, the Armenian "Crossroads" initiative aims to create new opportunities through the development of transport, energy, and digital connectivity. "One of the

key components of the "Crossroads of Peace" project is the Trump Route for International Peace and Prosperity (TRIPP). The TRIPP project will open a direct rail link between Armenia and Azerbaijan. "At the same time, the project will integrate Armenia into international railway networks and create the possibility of establishing a railway connection between the Persian Gulf and the Black Sea," Nikol Pashinyan said.

He added that the implementation of this route will be a landmark event for transport links, a change for Armenia, Azerbaijan, Georgia, and Iran. The Prime Minister emphasized that during separate discussions with his colleagues, the latter were informed of the details of certain aspects of the unblocking of regional transport links that are occurring as a result of the establishment of peace between Armenia and Azerbaijan. "We hope for certain decisions that, in particular, will improve the efficiency of the railways of the Republic of Armenia," the head of the Armenian government noted.

He also pointed out the need to adhere to the four fundamental rules of the EAEU - the free movement of goods, services, capital, and labor - which form the basis for the full functioning of the Union and the EAEU common market. At the same time, the practical implementation of these principles still requires special attention. "Since my previous participation in the meeting of the intergovernmental council in Cholpon-Ata, unfortunately, it has not been possible to achieve significant progress on a number of existing issues. In particular, restrictions and administrative barriers remain, which continue to significantly hinder the full and effective functioning of the common market. In this regard, we consider it important to continue a constructive dialogue to eliminate existing barriers to the export and transit of Armenian products in accordance with EAEU law. I am confident that consistent progress in this direction meets the interests of all EAEU states, ensuring uninterrupted trade flows, predictable conditions for market participants, as well as further strengthening of economic cooperation," Nikol Pashinyan summarized.
