The current state of Azerbaijani-Russian trade and economic cooperation was discussed in Moscow

ArmInfo. Russian Deputy Prime Minister Alexey Overchuk, together with Azerbaijani Deputy Prime Minister Shahin Mustafayev, held a meeting of the co-chairs of the Intergovernmental Commission on Economic Cooperation between Russia and Azerbaijan.

According to the Russian government press service, representatives of relevant agencies, ministries, and departments from Russia and Azerbaijan participated in the event.

During the meeting in Moscow, the current state of Azerbaijani-Russian trade and economic cooperation was reviewed and prospects for its further development were discussed. The importance of regular high-level contacts for developing bilateral cooperation and advancing practical collaboration was noted.

The parties discussed in detail issues of cooperation in trade, economic and investment spheres, industry, energy, agriculture, transport and logistics, as well as the progress of implementing the agreements reached at the highest level and the decisions of the 24th meeting of the Intergovernmental Commission on Economic Cooperation between Russia and Azerbaijan, held on April 16, 2026, in Zangelan.

Further measures to increase mutual trade turnover, expand trade and economic ties, and create favorable conditions for the activities of economic entities of the two countries were discussed.

Special attention was paid to the development of transport links and improving the efficiency of freight transportation between the two countries, further exploiting the potential of the North-South international transport corridor, as well as the operation of checkpoints and improving procedures for the passage of goods and transport through them. funds.

The parties exchanged views on the prospects for implementing mutually beneficial projects of practical interest to Azerbaijan and Russia and noted the importance of continuing work to further develop economic cooperation.

The importance of regular contacts between relevant government agencies of the two countries for the timely consideration and resolution of practical cooperation issues in all areas of bilateral cooperation was also emphasized.

The meeting was held in a constructive and businesslike atmosphere. Following the meeting, a commitment to continue joint work in areas of mutual interest was confirmed.
