The Ministry of Internal Affairs presented a legislative initiative aimed at creating a new model for the Center for Crime Statistics and Research

ArmInfo. The Ministry of Internal Affairs has submitted a legislative initiative for public discussion. Its results will create the legislative framework for the full functioning of the new model of the Center for Crime Statistics and Research and a modern analytical system. This was reported by the press service of the Republic's Ministry of Internal Affairs.

According to the source, the plan is to transition to a unified electronic system that will collect and consolidate data from various agencies in a single environment, ensuring its rapid transfer, comparability, and effective analysis. The draft law clarifies the scope of information on crimes, administrative offenses, and searches, as well as the scope of activities of government agencies whose data will be used to create a unified centralized registration system.

The new system is designed not only to generate data and statistics, but also to develop modern capabilities for in-depth crime analysis. It will create the basis for analyzing patterns and spatial distribution of crime, assessing risks and threats, forecasting trends, and early risk detection. The electronic system will also improve criminological analysis capabilities, including through the use of artificial intelligence tools.

To increase the openness and public accessibility of statistical information, the requirement to create an open platform for crime statistics will be enshrined. This decision also aims to increase the transparency and accountability of law enforcement agencies. Legislative amendments will create the foundation for the full functioning of a modern database and research structure of the Center for Crime Statistics and Research of the Ministry of Internal Affairs.
