ArmInfo. Deputy Minister of Territorial Administration and Infrastructure of Armenia Narek Apitonyan met with a delegation led by US Deputy Assistant Secretary of State for National Security Affairs Shawna Wilson.
During the meeting, the parties discussed the progress of programs within the framework of Armenia-US cooperation in the energy sector, as well as prospects for its development. They also touched upon the construction of a new nuclear power unit in Armenia.
Narek Apitonyan reported that by order of the Minister of Territorial Administration and Infrastructure of Armenia, an acting general director of the "Construction of a New Nuclear Power Unit" CJSC has been appointed. He expressed hope that this appointment will give new impetus to the construction of the new nuclear power unit, including work with relevant American companies.
