ArmInfo. According to the draft state budget of the Republic of Armenia, the Ministry of Education, Science, Culture, and Sports (MESC) is planned to allocate almost 436 billion drams in 2027, which is 15.9 billion drams more than the 2026 allocations. This was stated by Zhanna Andreasyan, Head of the RA MESC, at a joint meeting of the National Assembly committees on November 5, where the draft state budget of Armenia for 2027 was being discussed.

According to her, 23 programs and 193 events are planned to be implemented within the framework of budget planning in 2027. The ministry's main funds will be distributed among key areas: the largest amounts will go to general education (144.3 billion drams) and infrastructure projects for the construction of schools and kindergartens (126.5 billion drams). 30.7 billion drams have been allocated for scientific research and the development of scientific potential, 13.5 billion drams for culture (plus 310 million drams for regional cultural development), and 13.3 billion drams for higher and postgraduate education. Funding for vocational education will amount to 19 billion drams, sports will receive 12.3 billion drams, and 6.7 billion drams have been allocated for the Academic City project. 13.5 billion drams will be allocated to promote the development and popularization of contemporary theater, music, visual arts, and choreography on a national basis, and 310 million drams will be allocated for the regional cultural development program.

The minister noted that the department's capital expenditures will account for approximately 33%. She assured that the chronic problem of underfulfillment of budget expenditures has been overcome. Andreasyan also emphasized the need for comprehensive guarantees for teachers, including solutions for their housing issues. This will allow for the inclusion of males in the education system.
