ArmInfo. The Eurasian Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) is interested in and ready to further invest in energy, waste collection and removal, urban development, water management, including drinking water supply, wastewater treatment, irrigation, and reservoir construction in Armenia. This was announced during a meeting between Armenian Deputy Finance Minister Edgar Mkrtchyan and an EBRD delegation.

During the meeting, the parties discussed the progress of EBRD-financed public investment programs in Armenia, existing challenges, and solutions. They emphasized the importance of joint efforts to ensure the proper implementation of existing programs.

In the context of expanding and developing cooperation with the Armenian government, following the meeting, the parties agreed to actively continue the existing effective collaboration, facilitating the successful implementation of joint programs.

Highly commending the existing cooperation, Edgar Mkrtchyan emphasized that the Armenian government's new program will form the basis for further collaboration with international partner organizations, including the EBRD, in priority areas for the government.

As a reminder, the EBRD, having updated its forecast in early June, expects Armenia's GDP to grow at the same rate of 5.5% in 2026 and 2027.
