The geography of construction work in Armenia is changing - Yeghiazar Vardanyan

ArmInfo. The geography of construction work in Armenia is changing. This was stated on November 6 at the budget hearings on the draft 2027 state budget, by Yeghiazar Vardanyan, Chairman of the RA Urban Development Committee.

According to him, an electronic system for submitting applications for permits has been in effect in the country since January 1, 2025, which has significantly simplified construction processes and allowed for more accurate statistical accounting of work. Moreover, with the introduction of the new system, a trend toward expanding the geography of these works has begun to be observed. For example, in the Kotayk and Ararat regions, the number of construction permits issued has increased significantly. Moreover, the geography now extends far beyond Yerevan. Thus, the problem of proportional regional development is being addressed gradually, step by step.

It should be noted that the draft state budget plans to allocate 5.115 billion drams to support the activities of the RA Urban Development Committee in 2027. These funds will be used to modernize construction regulations, develop infrastructure and housing, plan, and support the Committee's functions.
