ArmInfo. In 2025, the revenue of Electric Networks of Armenia amounted to approximately 192 billion drams. This was stated by Mesrop Mesropyan, Chairman of the Public Services Regulatory Commission, at a joint session of parliamentary committees on November 6 during the discussion of the draft state budget for 2027.
According to him, net profit amounted to approximately 28 billion drams, and dividends amounted to approximately 19 billion drams, which were distributed among the company's owners in the following proportions: 30% to LIORMAND HOLDING LIMITED and 70% to Tashir Capital. Thus, Tashir Capital received approximately 12 billion drams.
Responding to a question about the risks of rising gas prices, Mesropyan noted that this could lead to a cascading increase in electricity prices. "So far, we haven't received any official notification from Gazprom about a price change, but that doesn't mean something can't change by the time I return to my office. I hope that nothing similar will happen until at least March 2027. I don't want to unnecessarily pacify the public. Yes, there is a risk, but there are no practical changes,"
- Mesropyan stated.
He added that Russian gas currently costs $174.46 per thousand cubic meters for Armenia. If it rises by 30%, electricity prices could increase by 1.4 drams per kilowatt-hour, and if they rise by 69%, as stated in the EAEU Intergovernmental Council report, they could increase by 3.3 drams. In an extreme scenario, including a gas supply cutoff, the state will be forced to extract additional water from Lake Sevan to operate the Sevan-Razdan hydroelectric cascade, as well as to import electricity from Georgia and other neighboring countries. Nevertheless, he added, the problem will be mitigated because Armenia already has a developed solar energy production system.
