At its meeting on September 9, the Council of the Eurasian Economic Commission amended the Uniform Quarantine Phytosanitary Requirements of the Eurasian Economic Union and the List of Quarantine Products Subject to Quarantine Phytosanitary Control (Supervision) at the Customs Border and Customs Territory of the EAEU. This was reported by the EEC press service. Specifically, the amendments to the first document eliminate requirements for fresh or chilled tomatoes, peppers, and eggplants to be free of the Pepino mosaic virus. Special quarantine phytosanitary requirements for the absence of the PepMV virus in seed and planting material of susceptible crops remain in place. The decision adopted by the EEC Council reduces the administrative burden on economic participants and improves the conditions for the production and trade of these vegetables.
