Armenia`s debt to World Bank increasing

ArmInfo. Armenia's external debt to the World Bank (WB) increased by 1.3% in the first half of 2025 (against a 2.7% decline in the same period a year ago), while  accelerating in growth from 2.3% to 4.6% year-on-year, exceeding $1.7  billion. This is evidenced by data from the RA Statistical Committee.

Armenia`s electric energy output shows 6.5% y/y decline

ArmInfo.  In January-July 2025, Armenia generated 5,557.6 million kWh of electricity, which is 6.5% higher than the same period last year. According to the RA  Statistical Committee, in July alone, electricity generation  increased by 23% to 862.5 million kWh.

Armenian metallurgy industry`s output down

ArmInfo.  In January-July 2025, the metallurgical industry of Armenia reversed its annual  dynamics from 7% growth to 7% decline. According to the data of the  RA Statistical Committee, this was provoked by a decline in the  volumes of the dominant production - copper concentrate, as well as  molybdenum concentrate and ferromolybdenum.

ArmInfo.  In the industrial sector of Armenia, production volumes decreased by 9.8% per annum in January-July 2025 (against 15.7% growth a year ago), amounting to 1.5  trillion drams ($3.8 billion). But in July alone, the industrial  sector demonstrated growth of 7.4% - up to 244 billion drams ($635.3  million). This is evidenced by the data of the RA Statistical  Committee.

Share of Armenia`s TOP-5 trade partners 65% of trade turnover

ArmInfo. The TOP-5 countries in foreign trade with Armenia are Russia, China, the UAE, Iran and Germany, with a total volume for January-July 2025 of $7.4 billion  (65% of the total turnover). Of these, four have reduced their  volumes year-on-year: Russia by 52.1%, China by 12.5%, the UAE by  67.9%, Germany by 4.2%, despite the fact that a year ago the Russian  Federation, the UAE and China demonstrated significant growth, while  Germany was then in a more pronounced decline.  At the same time,  Iran managed to improve the annual dynamics, exiting a 2% decline by  6.3% growth.  Judging by the data of the Statistical Committee of the  Republic of Armenia, a significant drop in the volume of foreign  trade between the Russian Federation and the UAE with Armenia is due  to the elimination of the factor of re-export and re-import of  diamonds and gold.
