ArmInfo. Armenia's trade sector slowed its annual growth rate from 7.8% to 3.3% in January-February 2026, reaching AMD 892.2 billion ($2.4 billion). According to the RA  Statistics Committee, in February alone, trade turnover in Armenia  increased by 14.4% to AMD 477.5 billion ($1.3 billion).

ArmInfo. At the TOON EXPO 2026 exhibition, held from March 27 to 29 at the Meridian Expo Center in Yerevan, the Ardshinbank pavilion welcomed around 500 visitors who received professional consultations. A number of visitors were granted on-the-spot preliminary approvals for mortgage financing, while applications were also submitted during the event.

ArmInfo. After a prolonged decline, cognac and wine production in Armenia has returned to growth. According to the Statistical Committee, in January-February  2026, cognac production increased by 17.3% (from a 45.3% decline a  year ago), reaching a volume of 2.4 million liters.

ArmInfo.Armenia's metallurgical industry increased production by an average of 15.1% year-on-year in January-February 2026 (compared to a 26% decline a year ago). According to data from the Statistical Committee, all  metallurgical products produced in the country saw an increase in volume, except for ferromolybdenum.

ArmInfo.Power generation in Armenia in January-February 2026 slowed its annual growth rate from 8.8% to 7.5%, reaching 1,921 million kWh. In February alone, output decreased by 23.1% to 835.3 million kWh.

ArmInfo. In January-February 2026,  Armenia's industrial sector achieved an annual growth of 17.2% (from a 19.4% decline a year ago), generating a volume of 491.5 billion drams ($1.3 billion).

ArmInfo.Net foreign investment in Armenian economy's real sector increased by 16% in 2025, reaching a  positive level of $90.5 million (34.5 billion drams). Moreover, net foreign direct investment (FDI) increased from a negative $119.8 million (47.5 billion drams) to a positive $244 million (93.02 billion drams), a significant fourfold increase year-on-year, as evidenced by data from the Statistical Committee of the Republic of Armenia.

ArmInfo. An expert team from the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) is currently in  Armenia to conduct seminars with representatives from relevant  agencies on nuclear safety ahead of the 17th Conference of the  Parties to the UN Convention on Biological Diversity (COP 17), as  reported to ArmInfo by the press service of the Armenian Ministry of  Internal Affairs (MIA).

ArmInfo.   The terminal in Ochamchira has successfully completed test vessel calls and has already created its first jobs, according to participants of the  Abkhaz International Economic Forum.

ArmInfo. The Central Bank of Armenia is preparing a package of legislative initiatives aimed at improving risk management. This was announced by Central Bank  Chairman Martin Galstyan at a meeting of the National Assembly  Committee on Financial, Credit, and Budgetary Affairs on April 6.

ArmInfo.  At its April 6 meeting, the National Assembly Committee on Financial, Credit, and Budgetary Affairs approved the candidacy of Martin Galstyan,  renominated by the ruling Civil Contract faction for the position of  Chairman of the Central Bank of Armenia.

ArmInfo.  In Armenia, economic activity growth accelerated to 7.4% per annum in January-February 2026 (from 4.1% in the same period of 2025). Moreover, the industrial  sector once again became one of the growth drivers, compared to a  double-digit decline the previous year. 

ArmInfo. At the initiative of the Iranian side, a telephone conversation took place on April 5 between Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov and Iranian Foreign  Minister Abbas Araghchi.

ArmInfo.  If Armenia joins the European Union, there will be no air travel between Armenia and Russia. This was stated by Russian Deputy Prime Minister Alexei  Overchuk.

ArmInfo.  Azerbaijan is interested in aluminum foil supplies from Armenia. This was announced by Armenian Economy Minister Gevorg Papoyan during a briefing on the  sidelines of the 8th Congress of the Civil Contract Party (CCP).  "Azerbaijan made a specific request for aluminum foil.

ArmInfo.  The Armenian Ministry of Economy is developing a subsidy program for the agricultural sector amid a possible rise in gasoline prices. Armenian Minister of  Economy Gevorg Papoyan stated this during a briefing on the sidelines  of the 8th Congress of the Civil Contract Party (CCP).
