First Armenian satellite Armsat 1 completes mission

ArmInfo.  The first domestic satellite of Armenia, Armsat-1, developed by the Bazoomq Space Research Laboratory and the Center for Scientific Innovation and Education, crossed the Karman line (the conventional boundary of space at an altitude of 100 km) for the last time and completed its mission. This is stated in the official message of the laboratory on  its Facebook page.

RA Urban Development Committee proposes rating construction companies

The draft law is posted on the unified portal of legal acts e-draft.am.

Armenia`s government causes 5% price rise - businessman

ArmInfo. The Armenian government has raised prices by 5%. This assessment was made by the co-founder  and head of the Union of Entrepreneurs "Mantashyants" Vahram Mirakyan. "The phrase "the government/state raises taxes on the sector" is incorrect. To convey the essence of the phenomenon, the phrase "the government raises prices" should be used.

WB revises GDP growth for Armenia down in 2025

ArmInfo. The World Bank (WB) has worsened its forecast for Armenia's GDP growth in 2025 from the previous 5% to an updated 4% (from the actual 5.9% in 2024), expecting some acceleration in 2026 to 4.2% (against the previously  announced 4.6%). This is noted in the April WB economic review for the Europe and Central Asia region "Accelerating growth through entrepreneurship, technology, and innovation".

Communication operators` payments to state budget down in 1st quarter  of 2025

ArmInfo. The four largest telecom operators in Armenia sent 7.5 billion drams to the state treasury in the first quarter of 2025, which is 6.3% less than the figure for the previous year. Of this amount, 94.7 million drams were paid in customs duties, 1.9 billion in direct taxes (including profit tax, income tax) and 3.9 billion in VAT. This is evidenced by data from the State Revenue Committee of the Republic of Armenia.

Armenia`s insurance sector`s tax payments show 7% y/y fall in 1st  quarter of 2025

ArmInfo. Of the 7 operating insurance companies, 3 were included in the list of the 1000 largest taxpayers of Armenia in the first quarter of 2025 (as a year ago): LIGA Insurance, INGO and Sil Insurance. This is evidenced by the data of the State Revenue Committee of the Republic of Armenia.

FlyOne Armenia and Shirak Avia airlines concerned over RA  government`s decision

IMF`s Executive Board could approve access of about US$ 25.0mln  stand-by loan for Armenia this June

Ameriabank tops list of major tax payers among Armenia`s banks

ArmInfo.  In the first quarter of 2023, the banking system of Armenia increased tax payments to the state treasury by 25% per annum - up to 27.7 billion drams ($70.8 million). Of this amount, 85.5% or 23.8 billion drams were paid in direct taxes, with an annual growth of 26%. This is evidenced by the data of the State Revenue Committee of the Republic of Armenia.

Only RUB transactions in Armenia`s interbank foreign exchange market  Apr 21 to 25

ArmInfo. The Armenian Interbank Currency Exchange worked only twice from 21 to 25 April 2025 and only for ruble transactions. No dollar transactions were carried out  during this period, and euro transactions have not been carried out for a month and a half. As a result, the weekly trend of ruble transactions reversed from a significant 2.1-fold growth towards a 55% decline.
