ArmInfo. In Armenia, the industrial price index increased in January- March 2025 compared to  the same period in 2024, rising from 99.7% to 102.1%. This increase occurred alongside a decline in the annual growth rate of the industrial sector, dropping from 30.4%  to 18.5% , with a total volume of 599.8 billion drams ($ 1.5 billion). This is evidenced by the preliminary data from the RA Statistical Committee. 

ArmInfo.The Committee on Financial Credit and Budgetary Affairs gave a positive conclusion on  the ratification of the draft financial agreement between the Republic of Armenia and the European Investment Bank on the provision of a loan of up to 236 million euros. The planned funds will be directed to the financing of the construction of a new 60 km long road between Sisian and Kajaran in the Syunik region of the Republic of Armenia.

In January-March 2025, economic activity growth slowed significantly to 4.1% per annum (from  14.3% in the same period of 2024) in Armenia.  Moreover, the industrial sector, which was the main driver of growth a year earlier, is now experiencing a double-digit decline. According to preliminary data from the RA Statistics Committee, this decline was accompanied by a deterioration in the foreign trade trend, shifting  from several-fold growth to a significant decline.

ArmInfo.  Armenian Finance Minister Vahe Hovhannisyan held discussions with several high-ranking officials as part of the spring meetings of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) and the World Bank Group in Washington.  As reported by the press service of the Ministry of Finance, Hovhannisyan  met with IMF Deputy Managing Director Bo Li. During the meeting, they discussed the results of the 5th review of the IMF  stand-by program as well as the macroeconomic situation in Armenia and recent developments in the sector.

ArmInfo. The year 2024 can be described as another year of unfulfilled promises by the Armenian authorities. This was written in his article by Tadevos Avetisyan, a member of the National Assembly of the Republic of Armenia from the  opposition faction "Armenia". He recalled the recent condemnations held in the country's parliament, during which the implementation of the government program for 2021-2026 in 2024 was discussed. The deputy noted that during the discussions, the government representatives, in order to somehow hide the complete failure of the promises made to the people, distort the objective situation and the emerging new socio-economic problems, again transferred the issue to  the "former-present" format. "Without arguments to boast about, they tried to compare themselves with the previous government using selectively selected indicators. In fact, the report on the  implementation of the 2024 program can be characterized as a summary of repetitive texts about "laying asphalt and paving streets," the parliamentarian noted.

ArmInfo.  Armenian investment company Balchug  Capital reports the closing of the deal to acquire Goldman Sachs Bank LLC, a Russian bank controlled by the Goldman Sachs group. It was previously announced that the parties had entered into a purchase and sale agreement and received official permission to complete the transaction. This was stated in the company's press release.

The initiative was launched as part of the AGBU Armenia "Katapult" Creative Acceleration Program, supported by the European Union in Armenia and in partnership with the "Fab Lab  Armenia"  Educational Foundation and the Strategic Development Agency (SDA) NGO.

ArmInfo. Nowadays, fraudsters use various methods to deceive people online, with social media being one of the most common platforms for their scams. Fake ads are most often spread through Facebook or Instagram, but you may also come across them on Telegram or WhatsApp.

ArmInfo.  The Government of Armenia will provide subsidies to airlines that operate routes to new destinations that were previously not served. The program to support the development of air passenger transportation in the Republic of Armenia, the procedure for receiving financial assistance and the requirements for airlines participating in the program, were approved at a government meeting on April 23. The beneficiaries of the program can be air carriers that are based in Armenian airports, operating flights at least once a week (including those cancelled due to force majeure), operating at least one regular flight to Gyumri, and  possessing a minimum of two aircraft, either owned or leased. 

ArmInfo. During  a regular meeting on April 23, , the Government of Armenia approved the Strategy for  the Implementation of Gender Policy for 2025-2028 and an accompanying action plan. According to the latest census data, women make up 52.8% of the population in Armenia.

ArmInfo. On April 23, the Government of Armenia approved the signing of the second agreement on amendments to the financing agreement between the Republic of Armenia  and KfW in the amount of 5,339,139.38 euros for the , signed on December 18, 2017 and amended by the amendment agreement of February 6, 2018.

ArmInfo.  209 million drams will be allocated from the state treasury of Armenia to ensure the continuity of the measure to stimulate the economic activity of citizens with problem loans for April and May 2025. The decision was made by the Cabinet of Ministers on April 23 at a regular meeting. Currently, 3,594 people out of 9,630 applications have been recognized as  beneficiaries of the program.
