ArmInfo. Armenia and the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region of China will cooperate in matters related to the avoidance of double taxation and the prevention of tax  evasion. The Committee on Economic Affairs of the National Assembly  of the Republic of Armenia issued a positive conclusion on the draft  of the relevant agreement submitted by the Government of the Republic  of Armenia.

ArmInfo. Positive sentiment  regarding a potential swift resolution of the Ukrainian crisis, the  freezing of the Russian- Ukrainian conflict, and the ensuing  negotiations play a significant role in strengthening the ruble. A  similar opinion was expressed by Martin Galstyan, the Chairman of the  Central Bank of Armenia, during a press conference on March 18. 

ArmInfo. The Armenian  government's decision to  place the next tranche of Eurobonds   (totaling $750 million - ed.) is a right step, especially since the  intention to issue them was announced in advance. ArmInfo. Air Arabia Abu Dhabi will start operating flights on the route Abu Dhabi-Yerevan-Abu Dhabi starting June 1, 2025, as reported by the press service of Zvartnots  International Airport. Flights will be operated 6 times a week: every  Monday, Thursday, Wednesday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday.

ArmInfo. This time, the Central Bank of Armenia has considered it appropriate to leave the refinancing rate unchanged at 6.75%. This decision was made on March  18 at a meeting of the Board of the Central Bank of  Armenia.  The  Lombard Repo Facility Rate - 8.25% and the Deposit Facility Rate  -  5.25% have also been kept at the previous level.

ArmInfo. The Republican Union of Employers of Armenia (RUEA) is deeply convinced that the purpose of the amendments to the Administrative Procedure Code of the Republic  of Armenia initiated by the Ministry of Justice to review the  procedure for appealing fines is to quickly replenish the state  treasury. Meanwhile, its adoption will have irreversible negative  consequences for Armenian business.

ArmInfo. The placement of Eurobonds in the amount of $750 million at an extremely high rate of 7.1% per annum indicates a deterioration in the situation in the  Armenian economy. This assessment was made by economist, former  member of parliament from the Prosperous Armenia faction Mikael  Melkumyan.

ArmInfo. Former assistant to Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan and brother of the ruling NA faction MP Hayk Sargsyan - Nairi Sargsyan proposes returning to the previous system  of product labeling, since the new one is unreliable and has already  become a real "headache" for businesses.

This was stated by Armenian Economy Minister Gevorg Papoyan during a meeting of the Standing Parliamentary Committee, in response to a question from a parliamentarian about Armenia's potential withdrawal from the EAEU and joining the EU.  Papoyan reiterated that the government's agenda does not involve leaving the Eurasian Economic Union.  He also clarified that the document being discussed (the bill on the EU accession process) doesn't signify actual membership in the EU.  He said that in the coming days he will visit the Russian Federation, where he will hold meetings with two colleagues to discuss the possibility of expanding bilateral trade and economic cooperation, and then go to the UAE, Japan, etc.
