Armenia, Hong Kong to cooperate in abolishing double taxation

ArmInfo. Armenia and the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region of China will cooperate in matters related to the avoidance of double taxation and the prevention of tax  evasion. The Committee on Economic Affairs of the National Assembly  of the Republic of Armenia issued a positive conclusion on the draft  of the relevant agreement submitted by the Government of the Republic  of Armenia.

Air Arabia to offer direct flights between Yerevan and Abu-Dhabi

ArmInfo. Air Arabia Abu Dhabi will start operating flights on the route Abu Dhabi-Yerevan-Abu Dhabi starting June 1, 2025, as reported by the press service of Zvartnots  International Airport. Flights will be operated 6 times a week: every  Monday, Thursday, Wednesday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday.

Armenia`s Central Bank to leave the refinancing rate unchanged at  6.75%

This decision was made on March  18 at a meeting of the Board of the Central Bank of  Armenia.  The  Lombard Repo Facility Rate - 8.25% and the Deposit Facility Rate  -  5.25% have also been kept at the previous level.

ArmInfo. We are moving forward with the current agenda, which is focused on diversifying the economy. This was stated by Armenian Economy Minister Gevorg Papoyan during a meeting of the Standing Parliamentary Committee, in response to a question from a parliamentarian about Armenia's potential withdrawal from the EAEU and joining the EU.  Papoyan reiterated that the government's agenda does not involve leaving the Eurasian Economic Union.  He also clarified that the document being discussed (the bill on the EU accession process) doesn't signify actual membership in the EU.  He said that in the coming days he will visit the Russian Federation, where he will hold meetings with two colleagues to discuss the possibility of expanding bilateral trade and economic cooperation, and then go to the UAE, Japan, etc.
