ArmInfo.  Armenia's economy continued to grow at a rapid pace in 2026. Anton Dolgovechny, Senior Analyst at the Center for Country Analysis of the EDB's Directorate for Research, announced this on June 15 during an online presentation on the new macroeconomic forecast for 2026-2028.

ArmInfo.  Armenia intends to receive a EUR100 million loan from the French Development Agency (AFD). At its June 15 meeting, the National Assembly's Committee on Financial, Credit, and Budgetary Affairs approved the draft framework agreement submitted by the Armenian government for an unconfirmed credit line between the AFD and the Republic of Armenia.

ArmInfo.  In the Armenian insurance market, the loss ratio for MTPL insurance, after declining throughout 2025 from 81.8% to 76.3%, began to increase in 2026. This trend continued until May, after which a decline was observed, reaching 73.1% for January-May (from 73.2% in the same period in 2025). This is evidenced by data from the Armenian Bureau of Motor Insurers.

ArmInfo. The development of renewable energy sources, increased energy efficiency, and energy conservation are key areas of Armenia's energy policy. This was stated by Narek Apitonyan, Deputy Minister of Territorial  Administration and Infrastructure of Armenia, speaking at the 7th  plenary session of the Regional Committee for Europe and Other  Countries of the International Solar Alliance (ISA), which took place  in Brussels.

ArmInfo.  Construction of a medium-capacity crayfish farming complex is underway in Echmiadzin. The annual production volume will be 12 tons.

ArmInfo.  During the week of June 8–12, 2026, dollar transactions maintained growth on Armenia's interbank foreign exchange market, whereas ruble transactions experienced a contraction. Euro operations have been absent for nearly four months. Notably, the growth of dollar transactions  decelerated sharply from a 20-fold increase to 20.5%, while the trend  for ruble transactions inverted from a 25.5% expansion to a 27.6%  decline. Consequently, the weekly volume of dollar transactions  maintained its dominance over ruble volumes, exceeding them by nearly  twofold.

ArmInfo.  Armenia is striving to obtain a special economic status within the European Union, mirroring the path taken by Moldova and Ukraine, as stated by the Minister of Economy of Armenia, Gevorg Papoyan, in Parliament on  June 12. 

ArmInfo.  The World Bank (WB) has maintained its GDP growth forecast for Armenia for the 2026–2027 period at 5.3% and 5.1% respectively (compared to the actual growth rate of 7.1% recorded in 2025). This is outlined in the World Bank's flagship Global Economic Prospects report published on June 12, which highlights that Armenia's projected economic growth for 2026 is the  highest in the South Caucasus.

ArmInfo. Armenia and Luxembourg have discussed the prospects of developing bilateral economic cooperation, according to a statement issued by the Ministry of Economy, following a meeting between Armenia's Deputy Minister of Economy Anushik Avetyan and the Ambassador of the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg to Armenia, Alain de Muyser.

ArmInfo.  Effective June 12, 2026, Rosselkhoznadzor (the Russian Federal Service for Veterinary and Phytosanitary Surveillance) is restricting the import  into the Russian Federation of all quarantined products originating  from or shipped from Armenia, as well as their transit through Russia  to Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU) member states, as noted in the  agency's statement.

ArmInfo.  The Armenian authorities are planning to introduce new mechanisms for reimbursing citizens' bank deposits held in the Sberbank of the former USSR, as stated by Arsen Torosyan, the Minister of Labor and Social Affairs of the Republic of Armenia, during parliamentary hearings on the performance of the 2025 state budget.
